a vintage fairy tale (mini haul)

What: Vintage Fair
Where:  TT Hall, Assen
When: 09-04-2017

Karen and I started looking for apartments recently and we've started looking for furniture, accessoires and everything else a home needs (and doesn't) long before that. Last weekend I went to a vintage fair with my mum and it was quite successful. I love vintage furniture, clothing and homeware and the fact that they have probably lived several lives before they came to me. We've learned that good vintage is quite hard to find though and it's even harder to find nice things where I live in the middle of nowhere. So I was extra excited when today turned out to be quite a good day for thrifting.

The first thing I bought was actually not directly related to us moving out but i've been wanting to buy the Dark Side Of The Moon record for so long now. It is a classic and Breathe is on it, which is one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs. It's just that it's always so expensive. So when I saw this copy for a very reasonable price I knew this was the moment to get it. I think the fact that the sleeve is a bit worn is actually quite charming on old records and the record itself is still in very good condition.

On the way back to the table that I spotted in the first five minutes of us being at the fair I set my eyes on this gorgeous patent leather bag. I really don't need another shoulder bag and  I thought that it would be quite expensive because it was in great condition but it really wasn't at all. And once the cute old man who owned the stand approached me I was instantly sold anyway. He even gave me a discount in the end.

Then the table. Karen and I have been on the hunt for the perfect coffee table for ages. We knew exactly what we were looking for and while that should have made it easier, it only made it worse to find something. Every single one we looked at was either too expensive or it was missing that something. This table however is amazing and I was ready to pay the full 75 euros or more that most tables we looked at cost. So when the guy told me would sell it for only 20 I never screamed 'sold' so fast in my life. How lucky!

Then lastly I picked up this vintage medicine bottle that actually has an olive oil label on it. I'm thinking we'll stick some wild flowers in it and it'll become the cutest little vase.

So all in all it was a great success and I will definitely try and visit these type of fairs more often. Before I go though,  I want to add that the overall athmosphere was so nice at this fair.  Every seller was so down-to-earth and talkative and they all looked so creative and cool, which was very nice for me because I always feel a bit awkward buying things at markets and stalls. (Is that just me, it's so intimidating).

Are you into vintage? What's the best vintage item you ever found?

xx Anjelica
